Become a Member
Ideally you will know an existing member or two who can nominate you for a membership. Not a problem if you don’t, you can still join by meeting the committee in the club on a Thursday evening.
Your first year’s membership will be £35, then £25 per year after that. Membership starts in January, but if you were to join mid-way through a year, that is possible at a reduced rate at the Committees discretion.
Once joined you will get a Members Card. This gets you in the front door without having to ring the bell, and when you present it at the bar when paying for your drinks, you will get a discount of roughly 50p per drink.
A couple visiting only 5 or 6 times a year will easily recoup the membership fee when you also take into account not having to pay the £3 on the door for non-members.
What’s not to like?
With your membership Card, you will also get a CIU (Club & Institute Union) card and a year card which will get you entry to any other CIU affiliated club in the UK. There’s over 1200 of them, so plenty to choose from. Very handy for holidays, weekends away, visiting friends etc.
